HTTP or HTTPS? Why a playlist may work on TV but not on a phone

An HTTPS playlist-setup website does not mean every provider resource is encrypted. The form, playlist, final stream and artwork are separate addresses, and the installed edition matters.

Check the final address, not only the form

The Anume Player portal accepts HTTP and HTTPS sources. This describes form input, not a guarantee that every edition can play any address. The current phone edition requires HTTPS sources; a playlist working in a TV edition may need source changes for the phone.

An HTTPS link can redirect to an HTTP stream or contain channels with other addresses. Ask the provider to confirm compatibility across the full route. Do not merely replace http with https: the server and port must actually support the service.

Artwork and EPG have their own requirements

A catalogue can load while artwork or streams fail. Check the poster, movie and programme data separately. Playlist resources can come from different servers with different certificates, access rules and availability.

With HTTPS, an incorrect device date or invalid certificate can affect the connection. Ask for configuration correction rather than globally disabling security checks. A URL opening on a computer does not automatically confirm support on every TV.

HTTPS does not hide a source from the device playing it

HTTPS protects traffic in transit between connection endpoints; it does not make a playlist address impossible to extract from an authorised device. Hiding a portal in menus is not DRM and does not replace video-server access protection.

Keep links, usernames and passwords private. If a link has been shared, ask the provider to change credentials or revoke access as appropriate. For support, describe the scheme and error without publishing the full URL containing account details.
